Patient Experience
Psychedelic Therapy for Depression
Many patients report meaningful improvements in depression symptoms after just a few psychedelic therapy sessions. The experience often helps individuals gain new perspectives, release emotional blocks, and reconnect with a deeper sense of purpose and well-being. While the results can be significant, every journey is unique: some notice rapid changes, while others experience more gradual growth over time. It’s important to remember that not everyone responds to psychedelic therapy in the same way. Careful guidance and professional support ensure the process remains safe, personalized, and transformative.
Everything You Need to Know
Frequently Asked Questions
We translate research, protocols, and clinical data into clear, compassionate language. We show our process. We show our credibility. We show the level of care behind every step.
The long-term efficacies in individuals who have responded to this treatment modality are not yet fully known. Emerging evidence indicates that some individuals remain well for several months. Undoubtedly, there will be some individuals who remain well for longer periods of time. It’s also known that other individuals will require booster sessions to maintain their feelings of wellness. The booster sessions are typically administered approximately once per month, depending on the chosen molecule.
This depends on the drug and will be assessed by our physicians during the intake process. Generally:
- Any individual who has a primary diagnosis is anything other than MDD or BD. As noted above, individual consideration will be given on a case-by-case basis for adults with either PTSD or OCD.
- Individuals who meet DSM-5 criteria for a substance use and or alcohol use disorder
- Any individual who has met DSM-5 criteria for a Substance Use Disorder and/or alcohol use disorder in the past 3 months.

- Individuals with a dementing disorder (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease)

Why Choose Intravenous (IV) Treatment
Intravenous Psychedelic Therapy
Intravenous Psychedelic Therapy is an advanced mental health therapy where medication is delivered directly into the bloodstream through an IV infusion. This method allows for rapid relief in many patients from Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, and some other treatment-resistant mood disorders.
During the session, patients are monitored by trained clinicians to ensure safety, precision dosing, and a comfortable experience. The treatment works by activating NMDA receptors and boosting neuroplasticity, helping the brain form new, healthier pathways. Many people experience improvements in mood and reduced symptoms within hours to days, making it one of the fastest-acting psychiatric treatments available.
Sublingual Lozenges
Virtual Sublingual Psychedelic Therapy
The medication is compounded into an oral tablet that dissolves under your tongue. The medication is used off-label for treatment resistant depression. Initial clinical trials have shown promising results; however delivery, oral ketamine is less studied compared to IV and nasal delivery.
Sublingual psychedelic therapy is associated with significant dissociative effects, similar to IV therapy. Both delivery methods include specialized 1:1 supervision with trained healthcare practitioners to ensure a safe and supported experience.
Where Clinical Expertise Meets Genuine Human Care
At Braxia Health, we combine the strength of clinical expertise with genuine empathy. We take complex research, protocols, and clinical data and translate them into clear, compassionate guidance so you always understand your care.
Psychedelic therapy provides fast-acting relief for individuals struggling with major depression and bipolar disorder. Many patients notice significant improvements in mood and energy after just a few sessions. The treatment is administered in a safe and supportive environment after patients are throughly evaluated and screened for appropriateness.
We’ve seen patients who struggle with depression for years see significant improvements following treatment. More than anything else, we are passionate about this therapy because it has the potential to change lives. We live and breathe it every day.
Our Approach
Everything we publish should reinforce that Braxia is both:
Why Choose Braxia Health
Trust the Oldest Clinic in Canada
Back in 2018, our team was the first in Canada to offer the specific type of psychedelic therapy we are known for. Up until that point, it simply wasn’t available, even for the most complex mental health situations. That’s why we continue to conduct and publish research, refine our approach, and launch new programs to better support patient accessibility, like at-home virtual sublingual psychedelic therapy. We’re proud of what we do.
